Ascension Hospital or Dixon Medical Plaza

One built by the Ascension Parish Police Jury and the other by the Livingston Parish Police Jury. Were the two hospitals
built about the same time? Around about that time, I believe that the majority of the parishes with a Police Jury system passed a tax
and built a hospital. Not all parishes at that time had a hospital. And, on top of that, there was not all of the Federal money
promoting hospitals that came about about 10 years or so ago.

Now, Livingston leased theirs out to a group similar to the management team that took over Ascension Hospital called
Lanoux and Associates. That management team made huge profits. Than, when the people on the inside knew that Washington DC
was closing the PIPELINE VALUE on money coming to such hospitals, by some miracle, they were let go and a new management
team (backed by the parish) takes over.

Who was the WISER - Livingston Parish or Ascension Parish? It won't be long before we know.

Ascension Parish needs a new Courthouse Annex - How many million dollars would it take to CONVERT the Ascension
Parish Hospital into a four or five story Governmental Building with many court rooms.

How many of you remember the old Howard Bros. building on Worthy Road? - Which building was purchased by EATEL
and became what is now next door to Ascension High School.

It looks like the Livingston Parish Government is willing to swallow their pride and sell their venture into the hospital
business. Livingston has several Family Medical centers which are in a manner of speaking miniature hospitals with no beds.

Family Medical Centers are already in Ascension Parish, and more will be built.

The Ascension Hospital management wants the Council members to force Ascension Parish employees to get blood work
done at Ascension Hospital.

Wait until each Council member has one or more Family Medical Centers in their district. The old Police Jury mind set will
return, and each Council member will desire that all Ascension Parish employees from their district have their blood work done in
their own district at their own Family Medical Center. That is the way it has always been in Ascension.
